You can delete your account and every piece of data attached to it yourself, from inside the app, in under a minute.
In the app
- Open Settings (the gear on the trip screen).
- Tap your account row, under Your data.
- Tap Delete account.
- Enter your password and confirm.
The account is deleted immediately. There is no waiting period and no “deactivated” state.
What is deleted
Everything: your email address, display name and password hash; your trip and settings; your Plan and Purchases lists; every price observation and dispute you recorded; and the copy of all of this on your device. The deletion is a database cascade from your account row, so nothing attached to it can be left behind.
Prices you contributed no longer count toward the shared aggregate once your rows are gone.
What is kept
Nothing that identifies you. Data may persist in the hosting provider’s short-term backups until those roll over.
If you cannot sign in
If you have lost access to the account and cannot delete it from the app, email [email protected] from the address the account was created with and ask for deletion. We will verify that the request comes from that address and delete the account within 30 days, usually much sooner.
